fine is extra fine? And what exactly does course look like -

Turkish - Ground to the point of powder, like flour.
Extra Fine - Finer than sugar, but not quite Turkish powder.
Fine - Smoother to the touch and a little finer than table salt.
Medium - Grainy, like sand.
Coarse - Chunky, like kosher salt.
Always Remember:
If you purchase whole bean coffee, always grind as close to brew
time as possible. And before using the coffee, try rubbing
some of the grounds between your fingers to get a feel of the
differences in grinds so you know what fine, medium, coarse, etc.
